The Real Stuff Is Rare

Introduction 

We formed UKPS (formerly ukparasearch)  in October 2006 to investigate claims of paranormal activity, from castles to shops.  We'll even investigate your car if you believe the Lancashire Evening Post.

Neither of us have any apparent psychic abilities in communicating with spirits, sometimes just getting in touch with the living Pub landlords via telecommunication methods is hard enough. 

So why do it?  The long nights, the long quiet nights.  Over hyped historical buildings and tiny cold pubs and even long quiet wet nights amongst ruins and places like Pendle Hill.  So why do it?

Inspiration To Search

There are thousands of photographs out there that remain unexplained, 100's of television program's claiming their footage is genuine ghostly activity, but for UKPS the real proof is still missing. 

By 'real' we mean real to us, something that has physically happened in our presence to convince us that what we are searching for actually exists.  

We have experienced enough for cracks to appear in our sceptism.  Enough for us to continue searching.  The study of Electronic Voice Phenomena EVP has given UKPS hope that non-psychic communication with spirit may actually be possible.  Listen to the audio we captured when we visited the Skipton Social Club, a third voice get's involved in our conversation.  It's this type of evidence that inspires us to continue.

Investigation Approach

The UKPS approach to investigating paranormal claims always starts from a critical view point.  Interviewing people who have first hand accounts is essentual and should always be conducted respectfully.  A warning though, in telling us you have orbs in a picture, you might not get the positive response you so desire.  But this is why people like Lancashire Evening Post and the Lancashire Telegraph contact UKPS for our views.  Despite the sceptical beliefs, we are openminded enough to accept other peoples views and experiences. 

After we have collected all the necessary information we carry out vigils of the suspected areas the paranormal activity is happening.  Using video and audio recording equipment we'll attempt to capture evidence of paranormal activity or the proof that more often than not, natural elements create "paranormal activity".

Away from the locations we review the hours of video and audio and scan through 100's of photograths, hoping to find just one high quality piece of possible evidence.  After feeding back to the locations we set about telling our story via website articles, edit down footage uploaded to our YouTube site and where possible, other media sources.
